How to Meet Agares in Princess Maker: Children of Revelation
Who Agares is
Agares Royce is the heir to the Demon King’s throne and the only love interest you cannot meet by chance. He has two marriage endings: a normal one where he gives up his title, and a prince version that only happens alongside the Princess ending. On launch day 42.3% of Steam players had his marriage achievement, A Silent Vow.
Step 1: get the book
The Princess Maker book is sold only by the traveling peddler. Sources list different prices (the fan wiki says 1,080 gold, some players report 1,500, and one guide says to have 2,000 on hand), and 1.0 adjusted some item prices, so plan for about 2,000. The peddler tends to show up once you are holding enough gold, so work the first months (Restaurant or Botanical Garden) and skip lessons until you have bought it.
The Writer ending’s fate card, The Story Begins, starts you with the book in hand.
Step 2: read it early
Use the book from your inventory. The deadline is disputed: the wiki says before the January of her first year, another wiki page says before month 10 of 1211, and players report it worked when read at 11 but not after 13. Read it the moment you buy it.
Step 3: visit him at the castle
From January 1211 at the earliest, a notification tells you when Agares is at the castle, and he waits in the garden. Visit every time. One player found that if Karen had not done at least two lessons and two jobs while young, he stopped coming back later.
Step 4: the gap and the return
When your friendship with him maxes out, he disappears. Around age 14 he reappears at the Checkpoint job and in History class. Keep meeting him there and give gifts. His favorite is the Demon Lord’s Photo Album (peddler, about 1,800 gold); the general store Flower is a cheap alternative.
Step 5: the proposal
With his clover full and his last event done, he proposes on the last day. If you also meet the Princess ending requirements, he takes the throne with Karen; otherwise you get the normal marriage. Some players report the Prima Donna ending overriding Princess when music stats run high.
